What’s the Beef about Beef!

If we ban beef in India, the world is coming to an end cries the usual  noise makers, The  Political left, the Muslims  and the Christians  in India (The usual big three, Hindu “scarediecats”). The poor,  who eat beef would be adversely affected by this ban, they cry. India is becoming a Hindutva Fascist State if we ban beef, they claim.

Full disclosure, although my family does not eat beef, I eat beef. I like beef. Prime Rib, rare with a  glass of bourbon on the rocks is my favorite dinner. prime rib

I’ve eaten beef living in Tamilnadu, India since I was a child.. It’s available all over. OK maybe it was buffalo meat..I never could tell. and yes, its fairly cheap..It used to be cheap (relatively speaking) at least.  Mutton (Goat) and Lamb are very very expensive for most Indians. So are good Vanjeeram (seer) fish..that is also quite expensive. Chicken is reasonably priced white meat in India. Most of them imported from Mexico I believe. (A Side note:  Mexico sells the breast meat to the US and dark meat (Legs) to India, cause,   breast meat is preferred in the US, Indians prefer the dark meat and both are willing to pay premium for their choice of cut. Oh well! I just wanted to share that piece of interesting trivia)

For many Hindus, killing cows is offensive. More than religion, I believe its cultural.  For these Hindus someone eating cows is akin to  someone eating dogs and cats to most Americans. It’s a  cultural “eeeeew” factor. This subject is even more sensitive in the “cow belt” of India. Duh!  As a libertarian, I always felt what one man eats is his prerogative and one  has no business on imposing that on others. So that is my going in position on this topic. Everyone should have a right to eat whatever heck he/she feels like.  But it did not take long for me to realize that the world is not truly libertarian. There are social norms that society follows. It’s kind of a group agreement that does not fall under “Tyranny of the majority”. It is not Tyranny when others have very close choices. (e.g. Why its ok to ban marriage between siblings but cruel and tyrannical to ban gay marriage)

I consider the  recent United States society to be fairly sophisticated when it comes to liberty.  As of today, Its illegal to slaughter horse for human consumption in the US while its perfectly legal in Europe.  Its illegal to slaughter dogs and cats for human consumption in the US. and In Europe,.  In many parts of the far east, its perfectly fine to slaughter and eat dogs and cats (I know it grosses me out too). In the middle east, it may not be illegal to slaughter pigs, but its illegal to sell pork and illegal to consume pork.   It seems fine in Canada to club seals, the Japanese to kill and  eat whales and its a celebration when the Danish (Faroe Islands) slaughter dolphins and turn the ocean into crimson.  And then we are all outraged at each others preference in killing and eating what we hold dear.  So we realize there is no absolute liberty in most  societies to eat whatever the heck we may want

Does India and Indians have a right  to ban cow slaughter?.. You betcha. They do! Indians have the same rights as Europeans and Americans to decide what is legal and what is illegal in their country based on their social sensitivites!  If enough people in India believe in social norms of not slaughtering cows, they have every right to pass laws against slaughtering cows.  From  a practical point of view I am not sure if they could get a consensus across India.  But I believe this should be a state issue. I doubt, if this ban would pass in Kerala and Tamilnadu. In the North East of India, Christians may even vote to have the right to eat dogs. Or maybe they are slowly giving up this habit.

The thing about the Hindus, for the most part is, they are not fascists at all. Hindus, theologically are liberals  and do not have a single fascist bone in their cultural body. They are generally so accommodating to others.. In this case, in the form of not restricting others to eat buffalo meat.. a close cousin of the cow and I could hardly tell the difference between cow meat and buffalo meat.  And more importantly, my fellow Hindu friends who are vegetarians when they know that I eat beef, they do not castigate me, they do not ostracize me. Yes, even the most religious Hindu Brahmin friends of mine are wonderful about it.  I don’t even hide from them the fact that I eat beef and that I  enjoy it. So to call them as Fascist is downright offensive.  I am sure if some temple priest somewhere in the boonies come to know I eat beef, may decide to wash their murties (idols) clean after my visit. But hey, that is his prerogative as much as it is mine to eat and like beef in places where it is legal to eat beef.

And when I am in Europe, I may even try some horse steak..But I doubt if I could ever eat fluffy. Hey! Even I have some standards!

There  are folks who find cows to be highly intelligent and loving and  feel they are part of their family. They would dare not eat them.

Then there are of course   jerks who would be offensive to Hindus just cause they can be jerks! Like those illiberal political leftists who held a “Beef  festival”  at JNU and mocked the Hindus in the usual leftist English media…Yeah you NDTV. But these cowards would not dare hold a “Pork festival” at JNU. These anti Hindu jerks of India are not very different than the people who held the Yulin Dog and Cat Meat Festival

Others simply enjoy a good meal. I remember the famous line when a reporter asked Eliot Ness who put Al Capone in prison during the  prohibitions, what he would do if prohibition was lifted and he famously answered, he would go get a drink!

For all those Beef eaters, where its legal. Something for you! Bon appetit

A Nice Big Fat Hinju Gay Wedding!

The whole Anti Gay thingi has nothing to do with Dharmic people (Hindus, Jains , Sikhs, Buddhists). Sorry folks,. This is a non sequitur for us. But if you lived in India, you would not know that. The illiberal political left in India tries to portray the “evil Hindus” as anti LGBT bigots.

The reality is, Its the people from the Church and the Abrahamic folks around the world who are theologically anti Gay and only recently many good people from these faiths have evolved to be accepting.. But in India,  this was never a major issue but the illiberal political left tries to  pin this sin on the liberal Hindus when Hindus have traditionally not been violent towards gays and LGBT…..ever.  But the political left do taunt the Hindus..e.g. the movie “Fire” produced by that anti Hindu illiberal woman Deepa Mehta a Canadian citizen.  The outrage was not that the movie depicted two gay women…But this low brow woman Deepa named these two lesbian women in the story as Sita and Radha (Two religious Hindu icons).  This is like naming two  Gay characters in a movie Jesus and Mohammad to get a rise out it and then point the fingers to whoever that object as anti Gay bigots.

There are many Hindu priests who would be willing to officiate Gay weddings.. and some may not. The important thing to know here is, the ones who are  not willing to officiate gay weddings would not organize and conspire with other Hindu priests against Gays.

And don’t fall for the usual argument about “IF we allow relationship between two consenting adults” its a slipper slope to two consenting siblings asking for the rights to marry. It is a spurious argument cause  if one is not allowed to marry siblings there are plenty of other choices for the individual. Unlike gay folks who have no other choice, making it cruel and unjust to deny them the kind of relationship and love and marriage.

Here is a true story:

When the English novelist E.M.Forster who happened to be gay, worked for a Maharajah in India, suddenly  resigned from his  position to go back to England. He was so guilt ridden having had affairs with many gay men while living in the Palace of the Maharajah as his guest and  felt he had worn out his welcome in India.  The Maharajah of course  had tried  many times to introduce many single women to E.M.Forster the eligible bachelor .Forster, so guilt ridden about bringing Gay men to his quarters at the Palace,  confessed to the Maharajah of being gay and apologized to him and rendered his resignation. He wept this whole time…but the Maharajah was shocked and disappointed all right, Not that E.F,Forster way gay, but for the fact that Forster, his employee and good friend did not trust the Maharajah enough and to have kept this away from him while being anguished in guilt. . .Both wept together. The Maharajah then convinced him to stay and work for him anyway and  stated he had absolutely no issue with Forster being gay. The Maharajah later  went on to introduce other gay men to E.M.Forster the eligible bachelor.
E.M.Forster was so overwhelmed with this gesture from the Maharajah and the Hindu culture went on to write so many good things about Indian Hindu culture being so accommodating. .
Traditionally Hindus would not interfere with people who are gays and what not… The law in the books is an anachronistic Victorian law brought to India by the English. The far left in India want to keep their supporter (the Christian evangelicals and the Islamist happy and tries to portray this as an issue of  the “evil Hindus”. Yes there are some clueless Hindu idiots out there too but these outliers have no idea about Hinduism or the Hindu History in India either. These are exceptions to the rule. There are even  cross dressing and transsexual Deities in the Hindu Pantheons. So don’t listen to anti Hindus when they tell you how horrible Hindus are towards Gays.. Hinduism is not perfect, but anti Gay thingi is not one of them.  This  is an Abrahamic  problem..not a Hindu problem…for the most part.

Lets look at some Hindu Gay Weddings…shall we?

The Story Behind The Lesbian Indian Wedding That Stole The Internet’s Heart

A month ago, we had a small wedding and invited our very close friends and family. Without our blessing our pictures went viral, and being a very private couple and part of a private culture, we were shocked and taken back that our small wedding had been seen by hundreds of thousands of people. Nonetheless, as our wedding pictures spread, we received hundreds of amazing, supportive comments of hope, strength and courage that not only brightened our day, but gave us the strength to continue through this journey and further tell our story.

Stances of Faiths on LGBT Issues: Hinduism

Hinduism is one of the world’s oldest religions, and Hindus constitute a sixth of the world’s population today. Most Hindus live in India but there are about 1.5 million Hindus, both Indians and non-Indians, in the United States. As a result, homosexuality is a complex matter in Hinduism and depends heavily on cultural context and tradition.

Hinduism and Sexuality

“Same sex desire and even sexual activity have been represented and discussed in Indian literature for two millennia, often in a nonjudgmental and even celebratory manner,” according to Hindu scholar Ruth Vanita. For example, the erotic sculptures on ancient Hindu temples at Khajuraho and Konarak, and the sacred texts in Sanskrit constitute irrefutable evidence that a whole range of sexual behavior was known to ancient Hindus. The tradition of representing same-sex desire in literature and art continued in medieval Hinduism.

When Europeans arrived in India, they were shocked by Hinduism, which they termed idolatrous, and by the range of sexual practices, including same-sex relations, which they labeled licentious. British colonial rulers incorporated their homophobic prejudices – largely attributed to certain Christian teachings – into Indian education, law and politics.  As a result, homosexuality was made illegal in 1861, when British rulers codified a law prohibiting carnal or lustful intercourse “against the order of nature” with any man, woman, or animal – in other words, any sex that is not between a man and a woman with the aim of reproduction is outlawed. Thus, the marginal homophobic trend in pre-colonial India became dominant in modern India. Some Indian nationalists, including Hindus, internalized Victorian ideals of heterosexual monogamy and disowned indigenous traditions that contravened those ideals. Homosexuality remained a criminal offense in India until 2009 when New Delhi’s highest court deemed this colonial era law unconstitutional.

There is no evidence of anyone in India ever having been executed for same-sex relations.

Recent developments of Anti Gay culture perculating from the Bible Belt of the Americas into developing countries from Uganda to now South India.

Tamil Nadu IAS officer wants homosexuals killed

uma_shankar1-1024x768 (1)

Staff Report

According to various news reports, C.Umashankar- an IAS officer from Tamil Nadu, has his name prominently displayed in anti-gay posters put up by an evangelical Christian group in Kanyakumari. ‘Kill those who indulge in homosexuality’- the billboard announced, quoting a Biblical verse to support it. The board was displayed at a public square in Kanyakumari and was put up by the ‘Tamil Nadu Christian Progressive Federation’.

The same IAS officer had earlier grabbed attention for his baffling reaction to the Uttarakhand floods- when he made his fundamentalist Christian leanings clear by saying, “The countdown has started for huge disasters in the world. But of all nations India is going to suffer the worst of divine retribution for it is in India that idols are worshipped.”

For his association and activities with trouble-making Christian groups, Umashankar has already got a warning from the district administration.

With the help of the Southern Baptist Evangelicals, anti Gay hate is being spread in developing countries. In Uganda the christian country in Africa went on a crusade murdering gays in that country. The local Newspaper outed and published the names and addresses of  gays and the new found biblical morality screaming bigots  went looking for them and murdering them.  Google search for “C street” in Washington DC where the American evangelicals have influenced these evangelicals in third world countries.

Traditional Indian Christians have been model citizens in India. But in the last two decades there has been poisonous bigoted evangelical  christian culture that has been imported into India spoiling the good works done by traditional Dharmic Christians of India. The real tragedy is, no one seems to acknowledge the difference between these two “Jerkll and Hyde” duality of  Christian culture in India. Even the traditional Dharmic Christians of India don’t seem to want to address this evil, which I find  very strange and disheartening. Of course, there are also some idiotic Hindus in India who are clueless about their culture caught up in this anti gay farce too.

And now for some Entertainment:

“False god” is my “N” Word! Bitch!

Missionaries in India – If this is not HATE SPEECH, I don’t know what is.

Those are fighting words!

Missionaries in India.

Preaching False god? WTF! Bill Donahue of the American Catholic church  justifies the  crusades saying, Christians defending Europe from the desire of the Muslims to convert them was totally justified. The Europeans did not want to surrender to the Muslims and convert  instead the entire Europe resorted to violence which this Donahue fella totally justifies as self defense.      I’d be darned, these blokes expect the Hindus to roll over and convert without  resistance?

The Idea of “false God” is like calling others “a Nigger”

Simple as that. The fact that ISIS and AQ behead others does not make it acceptable for Christians to call others Nigger (just because the bible condones slavery)  or call other Gods a False God (cause the Bible says so).  Many liberal Americans I have spoken with,  tell me  the same crap. “But Christians do not behead people”. Pffft!   Like that is supposed to make me feel any better.   The fact that Christians do not behead people anymore,  does not mean they  can call others a  Nigger or use the term “False god” like this white trash is so comfortable doing.

Recently in Washington  this  catholic fellow Bill Donohue said this

The Crusades were initiated by the Roman catholic church’s Pope Urban II in 1095, with armies from Western Europe sent to fight against rising Islamic forces in the Holy Land. While a contentious topic that continues to be debated by historians, Donohue argued that they were a “defensive christian reaction against Muslim madmen of the Middle Ages.”

So what should Indians do for this? Obviously violence like the one that catholic fellow Donohue justifies is not the answer.. What if we stand in front of their church and start throwing expletives against them? eh?  Every Sunday morning visit a church and throw “gallies” at them (As a form of non violent peaceful protest)….  Why not use the C word and the B word against people like this? If I have to accept the social norm of bitches like her calling my God a false God as an acceptable behavior  in society. Then you have to start accepting my social norms of calling christians like her whatever expletive I choose to address them in our day-to-day vernacular.

DO NOT SURRENDER! NEVER GIVE IN! There are laws which the Indian govt refuses to use to stop this. That is outrageous too. Time to demand christians remove the concept of “False god” from their vernacular. The way we have demanded from christians to remove the “N” word from their vernacular. This cannot be our new normal!

Why is the Indian govt, including Modi’s BJP afraid of using the law of the land to stop this Hate speech? My suggestion is Hindus ought to stand in front of churches and throw expletives at them for believing that Hindus pray to “False god”. That is a non violent way to protest. May not be the Gandhian way..but I am tired of Gandhian ways.. I want to use some non violent  wuppass on these bitches!

Section 295(A)

Section 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) enacted in 1927[4] says:[5]

More  samples of the this evil: Predatory Evangelism.

Another trick that has been done is that missionaries, while treating the sick, will give medicine of no value and ask the tribal to take it while offering prayers to his local deity. Naturally, no cure of disease is likely to occur with the useless medicine. Then the missionary gives the tribal real medicine and asks the tribal to take it while offering prayers to Jesus. Then when there is a recovery, it is attributed to the power of Christ and not to the medicine. Such conversion activities take place these days more often in the tribal areas under the guise of social service. However, true social service should be done without expecting anything in return, including conversion.//

If you think that it would be impossible to improve upon the Ten Commandments as a statement of morality, you really owe it to yourself to read some other scriptures. Once again, we need look no further than the Jains: Mahavira, the Jain patriarch, surpassed the morality of the Bible with a single sentence: “Do not injure, abuse, oppress, enslave, insult, torment, torture, or kill any creature or living being.” Imagine how different our world might be if the Bible contained this as its central precept. Christians have abused, oppressed, enslaved, insulted, tormented, tortured, and killed people in the name of God for centuries, on the basis of a theologically defensible reading of the Bible. It is impossible to behave this way by adhering to the principles of Jainism. How, then, can you argue that the Bible provides the clearest statement of morality the world has ever seen? –  Sam Harris in his “Letter to a Christian Nation”.

// If a religion is not based on the higher principles of self-realization, but is merely based on dogmatic rules and regulations that it forces on others, then it becomes a trap based on fear, guilt, oppression, and intimidation. One must not be afraid to break free from such a trap. It is greater to see God’s love manifested in many sages belonging to different traditions at different times and places, among different people. Thus, the Vedic spiritual knowledge is for everyone and can assist anyone in their spiritual development. After all, if I, a Westerner can do it, then anyone can do it.//

Ancient Confession Found: ‘We Invented Jesus Christ’

Thomas Paine on Revelation:

No one will deny or dispute the power of the Almighty to make such a communication, if he pleases. But admitting, for the sake of a case, that something has been revealed to a certain person, and not revealed to any other person, it is revelation to that person only. When he tells it to a second person, a second to a third, a third to a fourth, and so on, it ceases to be a revelation to all those persons. It is revelation to the first person only, and hearsay to every other, and consequently they are not obliged to believe it.

It is a contradiction in terms and ideas, to call anything a revelation that comes to us at second-hand, either verbally or in writing. Revelation is necessarily limited to the first communication — after this, it is only an account of something which that person says was a revelation made to him; and though he may find himself obliged to believe it, it cannot be incumbent on me to believe it in the same manner; for it was not a revelation made to me, and I have only his word for it that it was made to him.”

Welcome to the EvilBible.com website.  Get to know Christianity.. READ THE BIBLE.

This website is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible.  For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes.  The so called God of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This  God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.  I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along.

A new Facebook page called “Jesus Fkg Christ. Slt Mary’s Bst*rd,” has caused a lot of people to speak out in anger. The anger is not as much with the content of the page, as it is the approval of Facebook. The page which states that Jesus’ mother, Mary was a fornicator and should have aborted her son, has caused many people to report it to Facebook only to receive the response that Facebook finds nothing wrong with the page. At the same time other Facebook pages that have a conservative or Christian view are being shut down without a reason at all.

“The whole scheme of Christian Salvation is diabolical as revealed by the creeds. An angry God, imagine such a creator of the universe. Angry at what he knew was coming and was himself responsible for. Then he sets himself about to beget a son, in order that the child should beg him to forgive the Sinner. This however he cannot or will not do. He must punish somebody–so the son offers himself up & our creator punishes the innocent youth, never heard of before–for the guilty and became reconciled to us. . . . . I decline to accept Salvation from such a fiend.”

—Andrew Carnegie, to Sir James Donaldson, Principal of St. Andrews University, June 1, 1905. Letters (except to Haldane) in Library of Congress collection, cited by Joseph Frazier Wall, Andrew Carnegie, 1970.

On this date in 1837, tycoon turned philanthropist Andrew Carnegie was born in Dumfermline, Scotland. In 1848, he traveled with his family to Allegheny, Penn. He entered the workforce at 13 as a bobbin boy in a cotton mill, worked at Western Union and the Pennsylvania Railroad, then founded the Keystone Bridge Works and the Union Iron Works in Pittsburgh. In his book The Gospel of Wealth (1899), he proposed that the rich are obligated to give away their fortunes. He began his philanthropy in his thirties, first endowing his native town, and eventually establishing seven philanthropic and educational corporations. His principal desire was to promote free public libraries. When he began his campaign in 1881, they were scarce in the United States. His $56 million built 2,509 libraries. By the time of his death he had given away more than $350 million.

Carnegie rejected Christianity and sectarianism, and was delighted to replace those views with evolution: “Not only had I got rid of the theology and the supernatural, but I had found the truth of evolution,” he wrote in his autobiography (p. 339). After encountering missionaries on an ocean voyage to the Pacific, Carnegie wrote humorously in his diary that he would “never forgive” the missionary for a particularly ridiculous sermon. When applied to for money by those same missionaries to China, Carnegie wrote them: “I think that money spent upon foreign missions for China is not only money misspent, but that we do a grievous wrong to the Chinese by trying to force our religion upon them against their wishes.” (Carnegie to Ella J. Newton, Foochow, China, Nov. 26, 1895) When asked to sell five acres of his land for a “free” cemetery open to all Protestants, Carnegie wrote he would be delighted to give the land away, “provided it were open to all who desired to rest there of every sect or of none. . . . We poor mortals while living our short span are far too sharply separated. Surely, we should not refuse to lie down together at last upon the bosom of mother earth.” (Carnegie to Benjamin M. Gemmill, Jan. 23, 1915). In making preparations for his death, Carnegie wrote of “deep regrets that one isn’t allowed to live here in this heaven on earth forever, which it is to me. None other satisfactory.” (Letter to John Ross, Feb., 11, 1913) To Elizabeth Haldane, he added, “More and more I realize we should think less & less of ‘Heaven our Home!’ more & more of ‘Home our Heaven.’ ” (Letter, Nov. 21, 1913, Haldane Papers, National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh.) D. 1919.

A Rebuttal: As a Christian, suddenly I am a stranger in my own country, writes Julio Ribeiro

As a Christian, suddenly I am a stranger in my own country, writes Julio Ribeiro

I read this sincere lament of an Indian patriot. It broke my heart reading it. I saw this  posted on many sites and facebook pages and felt it needed a response to  put things in perspective.   Mr Ribeiro’s article sounds like Hindus suddenly started Breaking Bad due to Modiji.

Mr Ribeiro feels deeply about this issue as I am sure,  many other Indian Christians and non Christians  also  feel like him.

Yes..there is a problem that has been brewing in India for a while and its only going to get worse unless good Christians act. (“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing “- Edmund Burke) .       But this problem did not start with Modji getting elected. I would say Modji got many support from people like me who have been traditionally secular which was one of the reason Modji won with an overwhelming majority.

I suspect the problem really started around 20 years ago and amplified after Vajpayeeji was defeated sending the anti Hindu Catholic woman Sonia and her Anti Hindu cabal to power in spite of a very successful Vajpayee term making many Hindus feel like strangers in their own country. The loss of Vajpayee term in spite of his successful term emboldened many Anti Hindu forces in India.  When the political left have had total monopoly of power in India,Almost all institutions including the court system is filled  with these anti Hindu congress/Sonia sycophants squeezing the life out of Hindus in India.  In any case, let me come back to this at a later time. Let me first address Mr Ribeiros concerns.

Quote “Ghar wapsi”, the declaration of Christmas as “Good Governance Day”, the attack on Christian churches and schools in Delhi, all added to a sense of siege that now afflicts these peaceful people.

He laments about Ghar Wapsi.  Jews do something similar to  “Ghar wapsi”,  They too are losing their flock and instead of predating on others, all they are doing is convincing the Jews who have left their faith to come back.  They do not predate on Muslims, Hindus, Christians..They talk to their own Jewish people who left Judaism to  other faiths and explain to them why they need to support Judaism and the Jewish history to bring them back to the Jewish fold. If one is so convinced they have a right to convert others you have no choice but to concede to the idea of Ghar Wapsi. PERIOD! I have no sympathy for Ribeiro on this front. Or Mr Ribeiro, please support the BJP govt to make it illegal to predate on other religions which eliminate the need for flock stealing from one another.   If you want to have it both ways, You Mr Ribeiro are part of the problem.

On the issue of “good governance” day. Whelp! It does sound petty, doesn’t it.   You know what I think? I think Indian Christians are wonderful…. for the most part…But at the same time, they are tad spoiled brats.  They need to go around a bit to see what “Minorities” are entitled to in other countries.   And,    its time to ask this question. Why should 98% of the people who are not Christians be forced to celebrate the birth of Jesus in India when they could use that day for something useful for them like..er “Good Governance” day? (this is the kind of Qs that gets asked in the US when “minorities” ask for special dispensation)     Why not use a floating holiday for the 2% Christians? Like the Hindus do living in the US for Diwali or the Sikhs or the Muslims for Eid. Come to think of it, Is there a single Christian majority country in the world respecting  non Christianity to have a public Holiday? When the Jews have a Menorah or people say Happy Holidays (due to this time period being celebrated by Africans (Quanza) and Jews (Hanukkah) , many people cry “Christian persecution” in the west.  Israel, Japan, Turkey and many other countries  do not celebrate Christmas any more than all of the Christian majority countries celebrate Hindu holidays,  why should India?  No one wants to take Christmas away from Christians.  It would be cruel to deny the 2% Christian their Christmas Holiday. They are entitled to take their religious holiday and no one has the right to deny that to Christians.    This is about why should the other 98% be forced celebrate the birth of Jesus?  Hindus consider Jesus the way Christians of the world consider Rama or Krishna.  On the other hand, if respect for each others faith calls for a Holiday for all, then its time Christian majority countries start respecting major non Christian religion and have a holiday for Eid, Diwali and so on.  There is not a single Christian majority western country in the world that has a public religious holidays for any other world religion other than Christianity.  It’s as though the whole world has to give reverence to the Christian mythology over other mythologies. Yes..its all mythology ok? Lets not Bullshit each other…Mmmmmkk?   Mr Ribeiro, please write an editorial asking for your fellow Christians in other parts of the world to respect Hindus and Muslims and get them a Holiday too for their important religious Holiday?

On the Attacks on Christian schools and Churches, I have written in my other blog entries, Mr Ribeiro may want to talk to the Sikhs, Jains, Zoroastrians and Parsis as to, what they are doing right that they are not attacked.  Maybe the recent obnoxious proselytization and hate literature on Hindu deities may be be impetus for these attacks? Please see my editorial on “Religious Iconoclasm”

Christians have consistently punched above their weight — not as much as the tiny Parsi community, but just as noticeably. Education, in particular, has been their forte.

All True. Many Hindus have benefited from this and we Hindus ought to be grateful to the Christian community for this.  Ingratitude is the essence of vileness.    I would not have batted an eye if I read what you wrote, in the early 80s… It looks like you have been in a time warp.  You obviously don’t seem clued into what has been happening the last two decades. Why have the same Christian Institutions turned their backs on Hindus and have started discriminating against Hindus.  What changed all of a sudden?  Vellore Medical college is now 90% Christian, St. Stevens and Madras Christian college are now 60-70% Christian only. It went from 30% in the 80s to this? Using Tax payer payer money and public land to discriminate Hindus?  With these “religious” institutions using almost 90% funding from the public its not all that charitable really.    In fact, this is such a hostile posture. More importantly, what kind of society are these Christians going to live in post graduation? In the midst of Hindus or in some exclusive Christian Enclaves  in Kerala and other places in an incestuous social setup without the “corruption” and “pollution” of Hindus?   Another Caste system where Christians maintain social endogamy not unlike what the Brahmins once did…Why Mr Ribeiro? We had people from different faiths including Hindus going to these schools developing deep long term bonds and friendship that have lasted decades.. Not by converting one another..but by respecting one another’s faith or at least to pretend to tolerate them. What dark forces are at play to sabotage that?   I have explained it here in detail “The Slow cooking of Hindus in India”.

It is tragic that these extremists have been emboldened beyond permissible limits by an atmosphere of hate and distrust.

On that we can agree Mr Ribeiro.  But which hate Group  is were we differ! The Neo convert evangelical hate groups or the Hindus who are reacting to the attitudes of the evangelical hate groups? The way you feel about the RSS and Sang parivar is how I feel about Christian Evangelicals Mr. Ribeiro.  They are like the Multi National Corporations from abroad stealing from the real minorities in India. It’s an unethical and fraudulent enterprise.   There are two sets of Christians in India.  What you talked about are the traditional Desi Christians who are endeared to me all my life.. They are no different than Hindus or Sikhs of India.  But I am talking about the neo Christian evangelicals  who are paid coolies of the MNC from abroad who you seem to have either ignored or clueless about. IF you feel these Christian Evangelicals are rights of Christians to run around doing their thing, I feel the RSS and Sang parivar doing Ghar Wapsi is the proper response! In fact I am disappointed that it is only at a token stage at this point. It needs to grow logarithmically to stop the onslaught from Christian evangelicals operating in India just to maintain par.  There is even a book titled “Post Hindu India”  with an ambitious plan of how India would look, after Hindus are converted to Christianity. This book is authored by  an evangelical professor at Osmania university. This is disturbing beyond words. In this sort of thing there aren’t going to be any winners.. This is a tragedy in the making.

What should I do? What can I do to restore my confidence?

You can do something about this heartburn Mr Ribeiro.  Preach the Indian Dharmic value of “Eishwar, Allah, Jesus” are all Gods to be respected. God is one, we call him by many names! This is  Bharat’s secular pluralistic creed!  The Indian social contract between one Indian to another. Time to evangelize that creed to India’s Christians once again! Indian Christians used to live by this Creed but many seem to have lost it during the last two decades.  Discourage the “Onward Christian soldier” posture of the crusades. That is the heart of the problem Mr. Ribeiro. That should restore not just your  confidence, it would restore mine too! And more importantly  neither of us would feel like strangers in our own country!

AND at the end of the day,  if you must  know, THIS IS HOW I REALLY FEEL ABOUT THIS WHOLE SHITTY  THING!

Indians had a social contract with one another.. God is one..We call him “Jesus, Allah and Ram”. many christians have violated this social contract! I have nothing but contempt for these contract breakers.

PS:  Its unlikely the anti Hindu “Sick-ular” English media would  have an editorial with rebuttals such as this.   The political left in India is the most undemocratic and anti Free speech monopolist in the world.  Instead they rather the Christians and Muslims in India  wallow in their own persecution complex  than bring some balance to these issues.  During the Supreme court judgement on Ayodhia was announced, the Indian Muslims wanted to settle the issue with Hindus…but the political left would not allow that to happen either. For them a maximalist position of humiliating the Hindus while stating the evilness of Hindus is their only option. Their very existence depends on the enmity of Indian Hindus with the Indian Christians and Indian Muslims.

There is probably no other country where members of other religions were as safe as in India. Hindus always gave shelter to those who were persecuted in their homelands. Jews gratefully acknowledged that India is the one country where they were never persecuted. Syrian Christians under their leader Thomas of Cana (Thomas the Apostle did not come to India) were given refuge in the 4th century. Parsis came in the 10th century to escape the Muslim invaders in Persia. And in 1959, some 100,000 Tibetan Buddhist refugees found shelter in India – only 12 years after the British had left the country, divided and poverty-stricken.

In contrast, the rich USA with an area three times the size and only a quarter of India’s population allowed only in 1991 one thousand Tibetan families to enter.

Indians never hesitated to accept those who were in trouble and who wanted to preserve their faith because they did not distinguish between human beings on religious lines. Their attitude was that all belong to one big human family and all have the same divine essence in them. For them “religion” was not an identity but a natural, ideal way of life.

So what happened that nowadays there is a lot of talk that Christians are under attack in India? Have Hindus become intolerant?

The Minority Report!

One of the often heard cliche  is “Minority”.  Minority persecution!  We need to defend the “Minority” at all cost,  I am lambasted every day by the political left in the media.    A knee jerk reaction to  defend the “minority” from the evil “majority”.    Yes…there is this association of the “minority” being the perpetual victim and the “majority” the perpetual victimizer.  I am an ethnic Indian Tamil Hindu in the middle of the caste totem pole and who is also  an American.    But what am I, really?  Am I a minority? or I am I  part of the evil Majority? I never could tell. I really don’t know how to play the minority victim hood. I always feel I am going to be stealing from the truly deserving “minority” from somewhere.  At the same time I also see many individuals from the Goliath predatory majority shamelessly playing the victim hood and minority game who I believe deserve a kick in the ass.

Growing up a liberal person, I always had the natural instinct to defend the minority against the tyranny of the majority. I still believe that’s  a good moral value to have  and we need to instill those values  in our  children.

Tyranny of the majority.  Political philosophers from Thomas Paine to Thomas Jefferson have taken great pains to  protect the minority from the wrath of the majority.  One of the pitfalls of democracy is the fear of the tyranny of the majority. These political philosophers have often lambasted “Democracy” as a viable political system of governance.  That’s why the word “Democracy” does not appear even once in the American Constitution or  its declaration of independence.   The American political system  is “A Republic”.  Its not a Democracy. Democracy in its simplest form is “two wolves and a chicken deciding whats for dinner”.  Democracy is nothing but a lynch mob.

Ref: 1c. What Is a Democracy?

The minority of South Africa.: The Numerically small minority of South Africa were the white Christians with the support of the Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) of Europe tyrannized the majority Black South Africans.

The minority Islamist Mughals were the minority while being the   minority of India numerically,  tyrannized and ruled the sub continent majority Hindus  for over 700 years.

The minority Brits ruled the world for a while. And so they ruled the majority Hindu India and other colonies of the world.

The Minority Brahamins of India had a narrative that put down the majority of Hindus and Indians as lower caste and insulted them.

A terrorist with a  gun in a  Cafe in Australia held lot more people hostage is a minority (numerically).

The white christian  Nazis were a minority in this world.

The point is,  A minority with a gun could tyrannize   the majority who are without the Gun. The Gun being the  “Power” of some sorts. It need not be just the power of the physical gun. It would also be Political power.  Could the western Christians with the financial and political  power hold such an  asymmetrical power over non Christians?

In a democracy, could the majority for whatever  sense of persecution of the past punish the children  for the perceived injustice and sins  committed by their parents?  Could the Black Africans  of the United States, no matter  their justified reason to be angry for the past injustice  take a machete and kill the current  children for the sins of their parents?   Could the lower caste Hindus who may have been insulted  take up arms or any other measure to punish then children for the sins of their parents?  If  that is true, should the Hindus take up arms to punish the children of the Mughals and Christians who tyrannized them for over 700 years and 300 years? (Yes.The Islamic Mughals tyrannized the Hindus for  over 700 years and the Anglicans tyrannized the Hindus for over 300 years).

In today’s’ world..The upper Castes and particularly the upper caste Brahmins  are minority in the world, in India and in Tamilnadu India. Yet they are vilified and tyrannized for the perceived injustices of their parents. I mean, it s not like the Brahmins lynched  or enslaved others.. No.. They just insulted others by not drinking from the same cup or eat   from the same plate. Nothing more.

Now lets look at the numerically large group who claim to be a minority.. The Muslims and Christians are the  two largest religious group in the world.  Could the evangelical Christians and the Vatican  send their Representative to a small Island of natives and claim to be a minority? These two claiming a minority position anywhere in the world is  like The Walmart and Mac Donald’s by sending their minions to a smaller  not so powerful countries to claim a minority position and steal from govt largess that was intended for the real minorities   It’s  disingenuous and  capricious.

Whelp! That is what is happening in places like India and many countries of Asia. The Worlds two largest predatory organizations, the Islamists and evangelicals are playing the victimization game in many parts of Asia while they use the world wide organization and monies to predate on minorities of the world to ethnically  and culturally cleanse smaller religious cultural groups of the world for their zeal for their bizarre one world religion while claiming they are a “minority”. It is simply offensive to put it mildly.

The Hindu “Majority” (in India only)  never ever persecuted the world majority Muslims. The world minority Hindus or the Sikhs or the Buddhists  never ever persecuted the world majority Christians.  It was the other way around. Yet today, in India these two worlds Goliath seem to play the victim persecution game.

So, being a liberal, it takes a lot of musings to determine who the good guys and who the bad guys are in this world!  As a liberal, I need to be extremely careful who I support. for there is a high risk I may inadvertently  bat for the bad guys.

Persecution of Hindus and Dharmic folks around the world

Being a Hindu American (Not very religious though),  more importantly being an American, I have learned to stand up to bullies a tad better and simply speak up and not be bashful about discussing issues that need to be confronted. The Indian way was maybe to shut up and put up with it..but Its not the American way.   So that’s my excuse to speak up.

Growing up with the influence of the Hindu Folklore  of the Mahabharata albeit from the Amar Chitra Comics, while at the same time reading the American folklore of the American frontiersmen  (Louis L’Amour) , I was ingrained from a young age to stand up to bullies. I  saw   how the Hindu values and the American values coincided so well.  The lecture given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna to do his duty  and stand for righteousness (Dharma) no matter the consequences, and those same values embodied in every Louis L’Amour Novel depicting the values and morals of the Frontiersmen to stand and fight for what is right and to fight for the underdog  has always been etched in my mind. They had no quittin in them.

The Jews were persecuted and made to feel guilty for their faith for over 2000 years culminating in the Holocaust for they refused to convert.  Do not let that happen to you or your children. Teach your children well.

We all need to stand up to bullies such as this..

Hindu temple leaders unite to denounce recent vandalism

KENT, Wash. — Leaders of several local Hindu temples gathered Sunday to denounce recent acts of vandalism in Kent and Bothell.

Someone smashed several windows at a Kent Hindu Temple sometime between 8 P.M. Thursday and 8 A.M. Friday and printed the word “Fear” on an outside wall. It was the second time a temple in the Puger Sound area was hit by vandals in less than a month.

In a community with so much tradition and so much pride, seeing the vandalism hurts, leaders said.

“(The) Hindu community overall is a very tolerant community and very peaceful and very loving,” said temple board member Jugal Thakor. “People’s hearts are broken that the windows are broken.”

Eight windows were smashed in Kent. The damage was still clearly visible on the outside of Kent Hindu Temple, which is located at 25748 101st Avenue Southeast. But it couldn’t stop the joy happening inside as one man and one woman became husband and wife.

“We are hurt internally. At the same time, we want to keep moving. These things do happen, and we want to keep going,” said temple board member Kul Garg.

Persecution of Hindus in Russia. In the whole of Russia there was just one Hindu Temple. Even that temple was demolished and the Hindus beaten to pulp organized by the Russian Orthodox church klan and its “dear leader” Bartholomew.

Even in India, Hindus are systematically made to feel ashamed of their faith.  One way this is being done is by falsely equating western progress to Christianity. Like the Church had anything to do with development of democratic institutions and  science & technology of the West.

Japan has progressed and quite westernized without giving up their culture and heritage. India could develop and progress without giving up their own rich culture and heritage.

Japanese Christian arrested for oil vandalism at shrines and temples in Nara, Kyoto and Chiba
Posted on June 1, 2015

The 52-year-old leader of a fringe Christian group in Japan has been arrested in connection with vandalism at shrines and temples in Nara, Kyoto and Chiba.

In late March the man allegedly poured or sprinkled an oil-like liquid on the premises of Katori Shrine in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture. The act was caught on security cameras. Chiba police have linked this to similar incidents in Kyoto and Nara.

The man lives in America but his group is based in Tokyo, according to media reports. He formed the group — unnamed in press articles — in 2013 in Tokyo, where he is from. In summer of the same year he apparently told believers at gatherings that they should “cleanse” heresy through the use of oil. “We will cleanse Japan’s temples and shrines with oil, and free the souls [kokoro] of the Japanese of these old customs,” he is allegedly to have said. His group is reported to have over 100 believers in Tokyo and Osaka

North Carolina: Hindu temple sign hit with over 60 shotgun blasts

A sign board for a planned Hindu temple in the US state of North Carolina was fired at, leaving more than 60 holes, that prompted authorities to probe the incident.

The incident, which has shocked the Indian community, happened sometime between noon July 4 and about 1 pm last Saturday, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said in a report.

The Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident in which someone fired a shotgun at a sign for a planned Hindu temple, leaving more than 60 holes in the sign, it said.

A deputy found empty shell casings near the sign that were consistent with bird shot being fired two to three times from a shotgun, Winston-Salem Journal quoted Chief Deputy Brad Stanley of the Sheriff’s Office as saying.

Air Force Dental Technician Fired For Being A ‘Hindu Witch’

A dental technician working for the U.S. Air Force was fired after her devout Christian colleagues accused her of practicing witchcraft, bringing demons into the office, and engaging in the “satanic” practice of yoga.

The Air Force Times reports Deborah Schoenfeld was fired after her co-workers at the Epes Dental Clinic at Fort Meade, Maryland, harassed her over her Hindu faith, claiming she was satanic for wanting to practice yoga and meditating, and referring to her as a “Hindu witch.”

The Air Force Times also reports two of Schoenfeld’s former co-workers have confirmed her account of the workplace harassment she was subjected to by her devout Christian colleagues.

Blood libel accusation against Hindus.

Quote “According to common Christian tradition, ‘doubting’ Thomas, a practicing Jew, was killed by jealous Hindu priests of Kali. (Or a peacock hunter.)”

The picture looks quite similar to the one where “Jews killed Jesus” kind of “blood libel”… They once went after the Jews… now their hate has been redirected against Hindus.

The Christians perpetual persecution complex used to persecute others.  Interestingly this bloke has published this in the Jewish weekly Haaretz  like the Jews don’t know the Machiavellian nature of these blokes. Note the “Thomas the practicing Jew”,, Yeah..St. Thomas the Jew Ha Ha!,. not unlike how they killed the Jews for killing Jesus the Jew.

A good rejoinder by Dr Koenraad Elst

Dr. Koenraad Elst – The confabulated murder of Saint Thomas
So your source is “common Christian tradition”? Fortunately, we are past the stage where we believe a story just because “tradition” says so. Therefore, we don’t believe the blood libel against the Jewish people anymore, eventhough for centuries it has been supported by “common Christian tradition”. Likewise, we don’t believe the lood libel against the “priests of Kali” either. Nothing of this legend is proven. The only written source for it is already some 50 years younger than this Thomas’s suppose martyrdom: the apocryphal “Acts of Thomas”. There, he is presented as coming to “India”, then a very large term (when Columbus landed in what he thought was Zipangu/Japan, he called the natives “Indians”, meaning Asians), in a part that was desert-like and where the people had Persian names. This describes Afghanistan or western Pakistan well, but not the lush and rich tropical landscape of South India. When he has committed several crimes against society, the king asks him to leave, and only when he refuses this diplomatic solution does the king have him executed. I first learned about the hollow mythical nature of the Saint Thomas story while studying in Leuven Catholic University, from a Jesuit Professor of Comparative Religion, Frank de Graeve. Not exactly a “fanatical Hindu” source. More recently, Pope Benedict XIV publicly declared that St Thomas had come to Western India, and that from there, after an unspecified amount of time, Christianity (not Thomas) reached South India. I am aware that Indian Christians have raised hell against this scholarly assessment, and have pressured the Vatican into removing this statement from its website. But that is not going to alter the verdict of scholarly historiography: there is no evidence at all to support this story. And when Christians did reach the coastal area of South India, probably as 4th-century refugees from the Persian empire that had turned hostile after the Christianization of its Roman rival, they were welcomed rather more cordially than any treatment given by Christians to Pagans. Far from being “murdered by the priests of Kali”, they were given hospitality and integrated into Hindu society, without any questions asked about the contents of their religion. Hindus have extended their hospitality more recently to Parsis, Armenians and Tibetan Buddhists; and more anciently to the Jews. That glorious record is the target of gross injustice in the fictional story of Saint Thomas.
